I rapidly pressed the fast forward and reverse buttons on a little cassette recorder while it was playing an old radio show from the 90s. One of the first fx recordings i ever did. Recorded with a samson c03u microphone, no processing.

I designed this sound from scratch using a 20 millisecond pop of audio looped and processed heavily using ableton live's sampler instrument. The loop is 2 bars long, but it this sample file i trail off for quite a few seconds sustaining the note to show off the sustain processing on the synth.

Wind turbine sound, near lacedonia, campania, italy, the 16th august 2022 @ 18:30the sound was recorder with a zoom h1n with windshield from a distance of 25m approx from the wind turbine. Processing:* 120hz high pass filter (to reduce some low frequency rumbles due to the wind);* volume adjustment;. Other sound in the recording:* voice of a woman in the distance (at the beginning of the file);* wind gusts;* car passing by (at the end of the file);.

I made this using two oscillators in native instrument's fm8 synth. There is nothing too fancy, just two sine waves played out the same output, but one has an offset of 440hz, and the second oscillator has an offset of 330hz. I then just played two notes that didn't sound too dissonant, and then ran it through some low-fi processing.

Cricket ball bouncing on a bat: sounds like a constant knocking on a door but has a slight ting at the end of each bounce. The bat used in the sound is a kookaburra kahuna 150 english willow and the ball was a bellingham & smith 135g match cricket ball.

A sound of an umbrella handle expanding and retracting, making clicking sounds. Great for foley and sound design. Recorded with a tascam tm-80 in a non sound proofed room, without an anti-pop filter. The umbrella was fairly close from the mic during recording. The post-processing was minor, just an eq to cut out some of the superfluous low frequencies. Believe it or not, this is a recording of a hospital reception bathroom. Normalized to 0dbfs with spot noise removal on birds during the drive-by in rx5, tail left unprocessed. No other processing of any kind. This sound effect acts as a demonstration of this stereo pair mic combination right out of the box.

Bottle cap coming off and on: sounds like a cap from a bottle getting twisted on and off with different variations of the speed at which it comes on and off. Here is a recording i made of my toilet flushing. I used 3 microphones, one placed in the bowl, one place on the cistern and one placed about 2 feet away from the toilet. The mics were fed into a sound devices 664. The only post processing i did was mix the levels. Toilet bowl - shure sm57cistern - sanken cos11main mic - sennheiser mkh416.

Decided to call this sound "electronic modular rhythm" since i found only one other spot on the net with that combination of words.
